Judaism, Christianity verse Islam

Christianity, Judaism and Islam all believe
in one creator God of the universe, however
this god seems different to each religion.

Does Islam pose a Threat to America?

Judaism is the oldest of the three religions

In 2091 BC God spoke to a man living in Canaan (now modern day Iraq) and told him to travel to a land that the Lord will show you. So Abram (later renamed Abraham) at age 75 left the land of his father's with his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot and his family, and they traveled east to the land which is present day Israel. God gives Abram a covenant that his descendants will become a mighty nation living on this land for ever. Abramham has a son, Ishmael, with an Egyptian maid servant, Hagar. Later at age 100 he has a second son Isaac with his wife Sarai. Isaac is considered the true son by his wife Sarai. Isaac has two sons Jacob and Esau. Jacob gets the blessing of Isaac and becomes the family heir.

Jacob has twelve sons (which become the 12 tribes of Israel) and Joseph and Benjamin are the youngest sons born from his favorite wife Rachel. Joseph becomes the favorite son but jealously ensues between the brothers and the brothers sell Joseph to a caravan as a slave headed to Egypt. They tell their father Jacob that Joseph was eaten by a lion. In Egypt Joseph correctly interprets a dream of Pharaoh and is promoted to a high position. A famine ensues and Jacob's family comes to Egypt seeking food. Later generations of the Hebrews become slaves serving Pharaoh for the next 400 years.

Moses is born 1526 BC and later leads the Israelites out of Egypt with God's help. God gives Moses the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, which are God's Laws by which the people of Israel are to live by. These laws become the cornerstone of the Jewish faith, also known as the Mosaic Law. Over the following centuries these laws are expanded to cover all facets of Jewish life. Jewish life becomes very legalistic and it becomes increasing difficult for people to follow a complex set of ever expanding laws. The Israelites return to the "Promised Land" where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had lived.  Jews believe that one day the promised Messiah will come to earth.

Christianity: an off shoot of Judaism

Jewish prophets predicted that a savor would be born in Bethlehem. Around 4 BC (the exact date is uncertain) a baby boy is born in a manger in Bethlehem to a just married Jewish couple Mary and Joseph.  Mary is told to name the boy Jesus by the angel Gabriel.  Jesus grows to be a young man and is baptized by John the Baptist after which a voice is heard coming from Heaven saying, "This is my son with whom I'm well pleased." This marks the start of his three year ministry. Jesus gathers 12 followers called disciples who follow him and are his students. (After Jesus death, four of the disciples write accounts of Jesus life and these become the four Gospels of the New Testament.) In his travels throughout Judea he preaches a new message of God's love for those who repent of sin, and Eternal Life in Heaven as he heals the lame, the lepers, the blind, the deaf and he cast out demons.  He also raises Lazarus from the dead. In a storm at sea his disciples fear the boat will sink and they awaken him and he commands the sea to be calm.  He teachs that Mosaic Law can be summed up in the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." You are to love God and you are to also love your neighbor.

Jesus mission for God was to become a sacrifice to God the Father for all people who repent and follow Jesus. God in his mercy saw that people fell short and could not always follow the His Commandments.  So God made a new covenant with mankind through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ atoning for the sins of mankind.  During the Last Super with his disciples Christ, told his followers to break bread and eat it remembering his sacrificed body and to drink the wine in remembrance of his shed blood for their sins.  After Jesus crucifixion, he was placed in a tomb under guard of Roman soldiers. As Jesus predicted he arose from the dead on the third day, and spent the next 40 days preaching to the disciples and hundreds of others who became believers, after which he ascended into heaven on a cloud.  Jesus also said that, "You will see me sitting at the right hand of God the Father" on Judgment Day, and that God has given me authority over all to judge the dead.  When you come before Jesus Christ on Judgement Day, if He says, "he doesn't not know you", you will be cast into the Lake of Burning Fire

The Prophet Mohammad of Islam

Mohammed the Prophet was born in Mecca in the year 570 AD. Before he was born his father Abdulla died and at age five his mother also died. His grandfather then took over raising the child but then he was orphaned again several years later and his uncle, Abu Talib took over raising the child. As a young man Mohammed was hired by a wealthy widow and distant cousin Khagija. Sometime after hiring Mohammed as her business agent, Khagija proposed to Mohammed. They married and had six children, but the two sons died in childhood while the four daughters lived to adulthood.

When Mohammed was about 40 years of age he spent time in the cave Hira in the mountain Jabal al-Nour where, he was visited by the angel Gabriel, and given a vision.  At first this vision terrified Mohammed and he thought he might be going mad. The angel Gabriel gave Mohammed verses to recite. Mohammed shared the vision and verses with his wife Khagija who comforted the troubled Mohammed. She encouraged him not to fear Gabriel, to seek further messages, and she became the first convert to Islam. It was understood that these revelations of the angel came from Allah, the one God of Islam.  Later these revelations were writen down forming the Koran, or the words of Allah.

While the Koran contain the words of Allah, Muslims also study the Sira which is the biography of Mohammed. To be a good Muslim you must follow the example of Mohammed so the Sira becomes very important. However, there is no one offical Sira; there are many versions. The two most widely known are by Ibn Ishaq and Al Tabari. About three quarter of the Sira relates to politics and war.

In addition to the Koran and the Sira is the Hadith which is a short story about what Mohammed did or said. This is the traditions of Mohammed.  There are two versions of the Hadith, one by Bukhari and one by Muslim.  So the three writings of Islam are the Koran, the Sira and the Hadith which make up the Trilogy of the Muslim faith.

Mohammad's transition from Spiritual to Militant leader.

In Mohammad early life he was know as an honest business man and was well respected in Mecca.  After he started having his visions he would share his visions with other people. Over a period of time he was able convert about a dozen followers. During this first time in Mecca he was seen as a peaceful spiritual leader, but most of the people in Mecca rejected his revelations, so he left Mecca and traveled to Medina. In Medina Mohammed turned to raiding caravans to steal goods. He became a political and military leader. While he still was receiving revelations from Allah, the new verses where much less peaceful then the verses received while in Mecca. So there are two versions of the Koran, if you will; the early peaceful writings and the later more militant writings. Muslims give greater weight to the later verses of the Koran sighting them as more accurate revelation from Allah. So while one can find peaceful verse from Allah one can also find over 100 verses telling Muslims to kill the non-Muslim Infidels. The Muslims call this struggle with the Infidels the Jihad.  So when you are told that Islam is a peaceful religion this becomes a half truth at best. The vast majority of  terrorist attacks and killings world wide done today are by Jihadist Muslims.

All Three of these Religions believe there is only on true God; But!

Muslims believe there is one and only one true God, and they are very proud of this belief, and they call this God, Allah. Likewise, Jews believe there is only one God who created the universe and everything in it; they sometimes call this God, Jehovah. Christians also believe in this same one creator God and believe God had a son, Jesus. God sent Jesus to earth to tell mankind more about the Father and offer the gift of salvation. Many assume that since all three of these religions believe in one God, it must be the same God, only they use different names for this same God. If they all believe in the same God, would not this God accept all of his followers? But if this were the case, why would this God tell some of his followers to kill others who also believe in him?

Logic leads us to believe that this is not the one in the same God for all three faiths.

While all three of these major faiths believe in one true God, what is taught about this God differs between the faiths. The Judo-Christian God is a God of truth, light and goodness. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Do not lie, Do not cheat, Do not steal, Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not covet your neighbor's things, Honor your mother and father, Do not have any false Gods before me, Do not worship false idols. While the Muslims have similar moral teachings, their God tells them to kill the infidels which include Christians and Jews. There are over one hundred verses in the Koran commanding Muslims to kill the infidels. If these faiths all believe in the same God, why would God tell some of his followers to kill his own people?

One is a religion of darkness and death, without much hope, while the other two religions are of light, life and hope. One religion teaches the only sure way to reach Heaven is to die fighting for Allah in a Jihad, while the Christian faith teaches Jesus died for our sins and we get to Heaven through Him. He is the Truth, the Light of the World, the Good Sheppard, and the Gateway. He is our Hope of Salvation and Eternal Life.

End Time Prophecy of the Three Faiths

The JEWISH Viewpoint:  All three of these religions have prophecies about the end times. The Jews have an old prophecy from Isaiah foretelling of the Messiah who will one day come to save the Jews who will be surrounded and greatly out-numbered by their enemies.  Christians believe that prophecy was fulfilled with Jesus, but that Jesus will return a second time.

The CHRISTIAN Viewpoint: Jesus also predicted that there would be a great time of Trouble called the Tribulation. During the Tribulation the people of the earth will be in great conflict, with many people following the anti-Christ, whose followers will be beheading and crucifying many Christians and Jews around the world. At the end of this time the Christ would return.  When he returns at the 'end of the age' the Jews will recognize him as the long awaited Messiah.  He will come with an army of angels to defeat the anti-Christ at the Battle of Armageddon. After which Satan will be placed in a bottomless pit, and Jesus will reign from Jerusalem for 1000 years of peace on the New Earth.  (Read Matthew 24)

The MUSLIM Viewpoint: Likewise Muslims also believe in a similar end-time prophecy but one which is completely inverted from the Christian Biblical predictions of Jesus and the Book of Revelation. In the Muslim viewpoint Jesus was not the son of God but just a prophet. When Isa (Jesus) returns he will ally himself with the radical Muslims who are killing the Infidels.  In this scenario Isa is a radical Muslim who will follow behind the Imam Mahdi. Muslims believe that the Mahdi is the final caliph of Islam.  The Mahdi will be a powerful military and political ruler unparalleled in world history, who will be leading the Muslim world wide jihad. Christians will view this leader as the anti-Christ. Muslims also beleive they will be victorious at the final Battle of Armageddon, and are currently working to bring it about. Muslim Jihadist are now openly saying they are the Army of Armageddon, which makes many people think we are nearing or in the End Tmes!

Note:  In all three religions Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is in their prophecies, although each view him as playing a different role in the End Times.

The Muslim Brotherhood has formulated a plan to conquer the world for Islam. This plan is know as "The Project" The time complete this goal is in the next five to ten years. Muslim Brotherhood leaders have been frequent guest at the White House in the past 7 years.

Which Heaven Do You Want to Live in?
Do you want to spend eternity living with people who followed Jesus' command, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."?  To live with people who have been kind and loving to their neighbors, and will be kind and loving to you now.

Or would you like to spend eternity living with people who got to Heaven by killing people who did not believe in their religion. People who might still be angry with you and might still want to mistreat and harm you because they disagree with you now.

Jews are descended from the Old Testament patriarchs of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
Jews follow a system of laws based on the Ten Commandments given to Moses from God.

Jews also believe in treating the foreigner justly.

Christian Cross

Christians believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God who sits at the right hand of God in Heaven, and Jesus will judge each of us on Judgment Day.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Fundamental Christians believe that Christ was born from the virgin Mary; that Jesus died for our sins as a sacrifice to God; that Jesus arose from the dead on the 3rd day after his crucifixion: and that Christ will return once again.

Christians also follow the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule.

The U.S. Constitution and many of our Laws are based on the books and teaching of the Holy Bible.

Muslim Cresent

Muslims follow the Five Pillars of Faith.
  • A confession of faith - there is only one god and Mohammed is the prophet.
  • Prayer - Muslims are called to prayer facing Mecca five times a day.
  • Alms giving - Give to charity both voluntary and imposed to purify one's wealth.
  • Fasting - A period of spiritual exercise during Ramadan.
  • Pilgrimage - All Muslims should make the hajj to Mecca during their lifetime.
Islam is a political system, a culture and a religion. The doctrine of Islam is found in the words of Allah in the Koran and in the words and actions of Mohammed in the Sira and Hadith. Islam has a complete legal code, the Sharia

Some points of Sharia law that run contrary to the laws of the USA.

Duality- Under Sharia Law, Muslims men are better treated and have more rights than women and non-Muslims.  This runs directly contrary to the American concept of Equal Justice under the law.  Non-Muslims living in an Islami state are called dhimmi and have less rights under Sharia Law.
  • A Muslim must not intentionally kill another Muslim; however, if a Muslim kills a non Muslim there is no penalty.
  • If a family feels that a female member of the family has dishonored the family, a male member of the family may kill the female without penalty. This is know as an Honor Killing.
  • Allah has made men superior to women. . . Admonish a rebellious women first, then send her to a separate bed, and then beat them. ref 4:34
  • A man may divorce his wife simply by saying three times I divorce you.
  • In a Sharia Courtroom it takes two women witness to counter the testimony of one male.
  • In countries where Sharia Law is strictly enforced women are not allowed to drive.
  • Homosexuals are executed under Sharia Law.
  • Islam teaches that women are inferior to men and in their culture are often treated as nothing more than property.
  • Slavery is acceptable under Sharia Law.
The Jihad is the struggle. This can be an inner struggle to do Allah's will, but more often is an outer struggle with the Infidels, as 'fighting in Allah's cause' for the jihad.

Muslim Salvation: Muslims do good works following Allah in order to earn their way to heaven. However there is no assurance that what a Muslim does is enough to earn Salvation, except to die serving Allah in a Jihad.

When an Infidel (a non Muslim) comes under the control of a Jihadist, they are given three choices.
1. Convert to Islam.
2. Pay the Jizya Tax.
3. Put to Death.
